Prognostic impact of baseline and follow-up CMR scans in acute myocarditis

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is nowadays considered as the gold standard, non-invasive imaging technique for the diagnosis of acute myocarditis (AM) [1]. The main strength of CMR is its ability not onl to detect non-ischemic myocardial damage associated with AM but also to assess its localization, extent, [2 ] and occasional pericardial involvement [3].
