In this article we discuss how miniaturized hand-held ultrasound devices can be used to identify subgroups of patients with severe heart failure who have a much higher risk of death or of being hospitalized within a period of less than two years. The focus of the article is to demonstrate the importance of visualizing lung congestion using a quick, easy to learn, method.
