The introduction of photon counting CT represents the main development in CT in the past ten years, according to Thomas Kroencke, a professor of radiology at Augsburg University in Germany.
‘The main benefits include increased spatial resolution and the possibility of performing spectral imaging,’ he told DI Europe at ECR2023.
Kroencke, who spoke in a session sponsored by Bracco, also highlighted the significant dose reduction, one of the main benefits brought by the technology.
