The introduction of photon counting CT represents the main development in CT in the past ten years, according to Thomas Kroencke, a professor of radiology at Augsburg University in Germany.

β€˜The main benefits include increased spatial resolution and the possibility of performing spectral imaging,’ he told DI Europe at ECR2023.

Kroencke, who spoke in a session sponsored by Bracco, also highlighted the significant dose reduction, one of the main benefits brought by the technology.
