Agfa HealthCare has announced the installation of a DX-D 600 Semi-Automatic Digital X-ray Suite at the Trillium Health Partners’ Credit Valley Hospital, a 382-bed acute care inpatient facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The installation expands Agfa HealthCare’s existing relationship with the hospital, which already has Agfa HealthCare CR systems and IMPAX PACS. Currently, the system is used for a wide range of imaging exams from chest, abdomen spine, and extremity work for both ambulatory and in-patients. “Agfa HealthCare’s DX-D 600 was the obvious choice for our imaging needs, especially due to our high patient volume with more than 200,000 diagnostic exams performed each year.
It allows us to streamline workflow and increase throughput,” said Mike Lindsay, Director of Diagnostic Imaging, Trillium Health Partners. “Additionally, as an existing Agfa HealthCare CR and PACS user, our entire staff has had positive experiences with Agfa HealthCare systems and were confident in the decision. It made our training and rollout smooth and efficient.” The DX-D 600 is a high-productivity, ceiling-suspended, fully motorized, direct radiography system offering superb image quality and state-of-the-art design in three configuration options. It works with the Agfa HealthCare’s NX workstation and industry-leading MUSICA2 image processing software. “The Agfa HealthCare DX-D 600 produces incredibly sharp images with the potential for dose reduction with the MUSICA2 image processing,” said Andy Hind, Vice President, Agfa HealthCare, Canada. “Further, immediate image availability speeds up workflow and reduces patient wait times, which was also a key feature in the decision-making process for the imaging staff at Credit Valley.” The DX-D 600 features include a touch screen control panel at the tube head, generator control and image preview on a single NX monitor, grid sensing for both the table and wall stand, solid state AEC (Automatic Exposure Control) for high-speed accuracy, and LED lighting features designed for convenience and quality patient care.
